Fortified with Chinicum’s new Robe of the Archmagi, we make quick work of the dragons and delve deeper into the city, with our temporary dragon ally Wyrmy. Jasnah reports that Indomitable is likely headed our way, but we haven’t seen him yet.
Hundreds of glowing yellow eyes peer at us from the shadowed buildings, and we make a break for it. One of them pounces on Sparklegem, but the Aspect of Cunning, Jimmy the Hand, appears and decapitates it. We follow him to Bahamut and safety. At Jimmy’s behest, Bahamut restores Wellby’s original body, as Sparklegem lets out a cry of joy.
Bahamut reveals the Grand Over-Arching Plot Of The Three Campaigns, Whatever That Means. After the Spider Goddess Lolth temporarily killed Brruce at the end of the first campaign, only to be surprised when he resurrected as the God Bahamut, Lolth escaped in order to cause future havoc. She poisoned the Summer Queen, the adoptive mother of Willow, the Spring Princess and Aspect of Justice. As the Summer Queen wasted away, the fey wasted away with her. The Gods vanished soon after, following the fey to what is now the City of Twilight. The City was corrupted by Lolth, for purposes Bahamut does not yet understand.
This marked the dawn of the second campaign, when the Goddess Scar attempted to escape her imprisonment from the City, and the Tides of Twilight threatened to destroy our very world. The last dragon vanished from the world at this time, following the Gods to the City of Twilight. The other immortal races: Gnomes, Eladrin, and finally, Elves, began to disappear as well.
We are faced now with an impossible choice, and our friends Zasheir and Mialee have been extremely vocal about how we should decide.
Mialee wants to tear down the barrier, restore the Gods and Goddesses to the world of Mortals, while also restoring the Gnomes, Eladrin, and Elves. The Gods would be able to make quick work of the Dragons causing havoc in our world.
Zasheir wants to cleanse the City of the corrupting power of Twilight, and restore the barrier. This would cause the dragons to be sucked back into the City, but it will now be cleansed of its corruptive influence. The Gnomes, Eladrin, Elves, Dragons, Gods, and Goddesses would live separate from the mortal races.
